New to Epi-Talk, but I'm over at MLP under the same name.

I've got a Crestwood '62 Reissue and am loving the neck. Anyone have one of these late 90s, bolt-on, Coronet reissues?

Seems like an interesting guitar. Anyone? :)

Welcome and Howdy......I Owned a Crestwood Reissue.....loved it.....got it on a very low deal and sold (doubled my money) but I wish I had kept the funky little thing.
Loved the neck and the Tremelo was very cool.
I also had A Wilshire Pro that I didn't like the neck on.

The Coronet looks more like the Wilshire neck (batwing H.S. and all) than the Crestie. I would want to play one beofer plopping down the $

    Thanks for the welcome, gentlemen.

I really like the neck on the crestwood. And I like the size and contours. It's a great little guitar. My only issue with the Cresty is the design of the tremolo. The break angle of the strings isn't sharp enough. I changed the bridge to a roller bridge which had some issues due to the lack of strong break. I came up with a fix, but wish they had done a better job on the tremolo.

As for the Coronet, I'm looking for one ;)

Also looking at wilshires. Hoping to find a TV silver Wilshire.

I don't own either one anymore. Both where sold to finance other "ventures" ........don't ask me to tell you what its been months.....I am a "flipper" buy low---repair---fix--play---sell (hopefully for a profit) Many go through my hands in a year. ....its a horrible horrible hobby. ;)

I wouldn't mind a coronet or Wilshire with dual p90s and a vibrato. Seems like it would be a fun guitar

Wow. That's a superb collection. How would you compare the neck on the TV Silver Wilshire ti the Crestwood? I love the CW neck.

For that matter, how does the bolt-on compare?

I made a few minor mods to the CW. I swapped the bridge for a roller bridge. Definite improvement with tuning stability. I also swapped out the tremolo arm for a Bigsby-arm. Much more comfortable and in a better position to grab while playing. And I removed the toggle washer. You can see it (in flashes) in our video (shameless plug ;) )

    Thanks!

The neck on the TV Wilshire is fatter than that of the CW (the VS Wil is MUCH fatter). The bolt on has a profile similar to the CW.

This is what the neck joint looks like :

    No neck plate here.

I'd say there both good guitars, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them at all.

That is AWESOME! I want one.

The neck on the Coronet I saw for sale a week or so ago did not have a painted neck. That blue is gorgeous. Will keep my eye out for those for sure.

I may have found a TV Silver Wilshire, but there's quite a ding on the headstock. I'm not looking for perfection, but it's in a place that looks like it sustained a fall. What do you think?

Battle scars don't bother me either. You should see my Tele :)

I just want to make sure the damage doesn't include the neck joint. Let's see if they will make a deal.

How does the headstock look? If there is any sign of cracking around there, then I'd walk.

Stay away from this sort of thing:
