I recently bought this 2017 guitar, with classic f-holes, but am not thrilled with the under-saddle pickup. I dont like the "quacking". So I'm pondering having single coil pups put on. Is it doable, or should I leave it as is? Luthiers and De Luxe owners, please weigh in.

Buy a old DeArmond FHC pickup. Screenshot_2018-09-17-07-27-06-1.png
I have a couple and they sound great.

Is there a way to reverse the phase on it? I wouldn’t think it should be “quacky”, especially on an acoustic

We'll, by "quacky" I mean every little movement of my fingers on the wound strings results in a squeaking sort of sound I'm sure you're all familiar with. Maybe quacking wasn't the best word to use.

I think that’s just due to the nature of an acoustic guitar. You tend to hear more of your finger movements on them. Maybe try a different set of strings or altering your playing style slightly? I hope you can get it sorted out! I don’t think a pickup change will help all too much.

I use a Fisher sound hole pick up on my other acoustics, and I don't hear anything like on my archtop. Thank you all for your input. Much appreciated.
