I made a bad joke and thought better of it.
Yeah, a badly timed joke can be such a ‘car crash’
Makes sign of cross at that orange stuff~
The one "stuff" I've seen you consistently make the sign of the cross at is snow -- ya got orange snow falling Digger? If so, time to run for it!
Nope it’s pumpkin I speak of.
We’re having breakfast for dinner, including home fries, sausage, fried eggs (apologies to Stuart!) and milk gravy.
Breakfast is Vegemite on toast or muesli not chips and stuff!
You Yanks are weird~
One takes the small amount of grease left from what we call breakfast sausage, seasoned pork sliced into medallions, and adds flour, making what we US Southerners call a roux. Season with salt and pepper, and cook it enough to lose the flour taste. Add milk sparingly whilst heating the mix to a boil, then add enough to get the consistency you want.
I've no idea what SWMBO has in mind. We did watch a thing that mentioned a failed McDonald's sandwich called a McHula. Basically a burger with a grilled pineapple slice in place of the meat patty.
EDIT: We're having Pineapple Chicken Burritos from Cooking Comically. NSFW, but it's only PG-13 level language.
Go the pineapple and the beetroot. Good Aussie tucker mate!
Lamb, Sausages & Corn on the BBQ with fresh cut Steamed Green Beans... AND the long overdue finale to PeachFest’19
It’s not just us. I’ve seen photos of a proper British fry up. And that reminds me, I said something about trying Vegemite. I’m off to the international market this morning!
Your entire life is about to change!
My Darling bought me home 2 of our award winning bakery (Jarrods) pies for lunch yesterday. We shared a scallop mornay pie which had just a hint of curry and a tandoori chicken pie. Both were gorgeous!
Big soft tacos for me and the bride tonight.
Well, it’s Friday, so that means several of these & some more of that, all homemade & hot from our oven...
Mushroom & Gorgonzola Pizza
Yellow Peaches on a Vanilla Bean Sweet Shortcrust Pastry
Classic southern meal tonight and one of the few things I can say that I'm really good at making. Chicken fried steak and homemade mashed potatoes both smothered in white gravy.
One might ask, why is it called chicken fried steak and not country fried steak? They are the same except for the gravy (AFAIK). Country fried steak has brown gravy and chicken fried steak has white gravy (kinda like what @Otto99 was talking about except no sausage and a whole lot more black pepper). It probably also varies on where you live down here too. For me the white gravy is what makes the meal.
Cast Iron pan is a must.
I cooked some sort of green thing too just on the off chance that anything about the meal could be healthy.
