Lamb seems expensive here these days though compared to there it might still be cheap. We have plenty of lamb here so it shouldn’t be dear. I think a decent piece costs us about $20.

It was lovely though not as good as the week before because I had some difficulty with the fire.

It was a darn good excuse to have an easy day though.

Oops! Forgot which thread I was in....16 C here again today.

Getting warmer there though I see, whereas we are heading for a slice of winter for the next week.

Summer is settling in, and it’s sticky hot this morning. It was nice while it lasted.

Winter is here today....it was just 9 C when I got up so I turned the heater on and jumped back in bed for 20 minutes.

Top of just 12 C today which is really a winter temperature here today!

Need to work hard to keep warm today I reckon.

Remember all that wonderful weather I was talking about last week? Today the car thermometer said 107°, but part of that was heat off the body. It’s only like 96° and humid as all get out.

Big storm apparently last night, which did not wake us up until a tree fell down the street on power lines and the bedroom fan switched off. Nothing can wake you up faster than sudden dead silence. Still no power, and so far no one has arrived to deal with it.

Update 2:40 PM CDT - still no power, and it’s worse than we thought. The tree took down a pole with transformer, and it may be tomorrow or Saturday before we have electricity again. I did see one official looking guy having a look see, but that’s it so far.

Update 4:30 PM CDT - They are starting to remove the tree that was no fun and fell right over. Don’t think the tree people will mess with the pole. So looks like no leccy until at least tomorrow. For a real treat, Google Hurricane Elvis 2003. We were without power for over two weeks. Camping in the great room sucks.

We’re off to bed in the dark. They are at least working on putting the pole, transformer, and wires back up. We’ve lost most of the food in the frig and freezer, and this happens frequently because the city does nothing to keep trees on city dug drainage canals from falling right over into the lines. I’m sick of it.

It actually had the temerity to rain on me today!

Only a few mils in it but I was spreading grass seed at the time so it was sort of handy~

I almost went looking for some gloves today, so it must have been bloody cold!

Just a cloudy grey day here with a high of 16C. Looks like the calm before the storm  as most of the country has weather warnings issued for spells of heavy rain & thunderstorms throughout the weekend into Monday:wow:

I'll have to get my tomato plants back in the greenhouse again :frown:
