Many of you know this already but, for clarity here, a few years back things got a bit dire at Chez H’omelette & I had to shed quite a few guitars. Amongst these was a sweet Ibanez Florentine Cut Ragtime Acoustic Electric that I had owned since 1980... longer than I had been with Mrs Eggs.

Things settled down considerably last year &, thankfully, I have got back to building a little 1990s MIK €pi collection that brings me a lot of joy, best evidenced in my long sort after recent acquisition of ‘Arthur’.

But I still lacked an acoustic that really rang my bells. Then, somewhere along the way here, I learned of a geet that ticked all the boxes for me. Whilst not believing that I would see one come up any time soon, I did make it clear that it was officially on my ‘lust list’.

Now, you boys & girls are good listeners, but some of you really excel in this regard, so it was perhaps no great surprise to me when my good friend @Supersonic contacted me this morning to let me know that he had a hot lead.

Suffice to say, I wasted no time in following up on his Southern intel, & another gorgeous geet is now winging it’s way to me... despite the sorry fact that I am not, & never will be, a ‘Great Guitarist’

Very cool, Stu. Always liked those (Skunk is one of my favorite players) or anything in the "Howard Roberts" style. Glad to see the collection growing again.

Not that you're alone in that department...I'm better known for mod skills and over-engineering prowess than blazing legato runs.

:thumb: First you finally get the Rivoli and now this. Dude, you're on fire! I hope it has a safe journey to Oz. But what about...

Thanks guys... Yes @Tweed26, I had also been stalking a Howard Roberts as a possible addition, but you know that feeling you get when you just can’t quite bring yourself to pull the trigger. In comparison, this JSB simply dissolved any resistance I might have feigned, & as the first international guitarist that I ever saw (Doobie Brothers - Sydney c1975) the man himself has long been one of my favourites too... & well played again @Supersonic. What the ‘Oracle Of Tennessee’ is cleverly alluding to above is the fact that, whilst these geets were officially launched with this ad campaign in 1995, mine rolled outta the Samick plant in December 1994 as No. 9 in that production run. If you look at my signature you will see how nicely that will sit in my collection, whilst leaving the ‘95 & ‘96 slots still wide open to grow the family :naughty:

As an aside, ‘my ring’ in 2000 Indonesian PR100 ‘Big Red’ is now up for sale on eBay to make appropriate hook space for this latest arrival

So while I’m waiting to receive said geet, let’s see what a great guitarist could do with “a cheesy coffee cup guitar” back in 1994

Ignoring the mug, & that swell drinking utensil, how about some more Skunk Wisdom to while the waiting hours away...

These are not specifically about the geet, but it is nice to watch JSB noodling on his namesake whilst spraying us all with his substantial knowledge

I just scored $150 for 'Big Red' on eBay, with the added bonus that the Buyer, named Jojo, is paying me cash in person this afternoon... Not bad for a geet that cost me absolutely nothing... 'Big Red' has now left my signature!

But my JSB has travelled from South Carolina, to Florida, & is now in Los Angeles, California :fingersx:
