New guitar day...again. Certainly didn't need another guitar, but could not pass this up. Squire Affinity, pretty much new with new pickguard, set up with a nice low action, hard shell case, and extra set of strings...$100.00 !
The case probably cost more than the guitar itself.

You guys are a bad influence on me !

Would not have been my 1st choice of colors, but could not pass it up. IMG_20170902_192232.jpg IMG_20170902_192342.jpg

I dig the red, but I'd have to get a different pickguard. White / cream pearl does nothing for me.

    Great catch though!

I completely agree. I plan on stripping the paint, maybe paint black, and put on a different pickguard, for starters....

The case is worth a hundred bucks. And you got a free guitar! HNGD!

I do like a red strat, that shade is one of my favorites.

Thanks ! This thing is pretty fun to play. It had recently been setup, action nice and low...intonation is good.

The common problem I usually see with inexpensive guitars is with the dreaded G string....can't get that string to stay in tune. My LTD had that problem, but resolved it by putting on a wound G string. Did not have to do that with this guitar, so kudos to whoever set this guitar up.

Heres the serial number. I'm assuming by the prefix its a 2009 model. Sure doesn't look like an 8 year old guitar.

Yes, August, 2009. CY is China, Yako (Taiwan), if I understand correctly.

Oof. I can respect the fact you don't like the color, but black?
That's a lot of work for another black Strat.

You have an opportunity to do something unique here. Go nuts! Purple, funky green, 80's neon!

    My 2¢

Well, you make a good point. I'll put some thought into the color and do some internet searches.

Check out the youtube on upgrading the Squire. Some simple inexpensive stuff that can make a big difference. Search "upgrading the squire guitar".

Mine didn't need much, i bought a steel vibrato block from GFS and had some stamped steel saddles layin around so i changed them too.....Huge improvement, plays and sounds like a much more expensive guitar.

One more thing is the pickups, very hot! Its the same volume as my P 90 guitars. Thats alot for a stock Strat.
