That is a nice guitar. neck is very comfortable, mild C profile. Fretboard is nice and frets polished easily. Weight is SG like, a little over 6 lbs. Tuners are tiny but very precise and smooth. Seem to have a bone nut.

Seymour Duncan Custom P90s are kind of ... hot. Pretty hot actually. First time I play P90's so hot. SD website says: Output =
DCR: 14.6, magnet = Ceramic. I will have to learn to tame them. The bridge doesn't seem to be potted, it squeals like crazy when pushed. Might have to look into that.

I like it. Very different from my PRS Soapbar and my Epi Special 1 that has Tyson Tone P90's. It is very bright sounding. Neck pup is almost like bridge pup on my Epi. But the neck P90 is about an inch closer to the bridge than on my other two guitars. This explains that.

    Now for the beauty shots.

The grain is gorgeous. The string-through design is... different.

Wow, the way they did that - if you can't get that action low enough, something is very wrong.

    Thanks.

I'll switch the tone pot from audio taper 500k to linear 250K. That thing is really bright and with audio taper, the only usable EQ section is between 2 and 3 on the knob. It'd be fun to get more modulation.

It's going to move on ...

I love the neck feel, but there are two things I have a hard time getting used to.

First, the Seymour Duncan hot P90's. They are now down level with the surface of the guitar and I still find them a little too trebly. I know P90's are known for their brightness, I have other P90 guitars, But this one is just too much. I could always replace them, but I don't feel I should.

Second, as much as I like the neck feel with its textured mahogany grain and nice chunky profile, I don't like the right hand feel. The bridge being recessed in the body, is very low profile, thus the need to lower the pups as much as possible. But that's just part of it. The thing that bothers me, like it does on Fender like guitars, is that low bridge profile. I'm very comfortable with the Tune-O-Matic of my SGs and LP and the wraparound bridges of others. Their higher profile makes it easy to mute what ever string I want. On the Godin, I have to twist my hand in an untatural way to that end, and even then I'm not succesful at muting.

So it's going on the market tonight.
