I traded a Squier Affinity Strat that I was $40 into for this Epi doublecut Junior. I put another $12 into a set of tuners since one was mismatched when I got it.

Yeah. I got the Affinity for $25, scraped all the DNA off the fretboard, threw another $15 in parts at it (pickguard, rail humbucker and plastics) and traded in to Music go Round. They gave me an $80 trade in value and the Junior was $79.99. Here's some before and after pics of the Affinity I traded.

I'm down to three guitars until I get my 339, so, My esquire conversion at about $500 is my cheapest. Seymour Duncan Quarterpounder powered. Very little twang left in her.

    Does that thing play well?

I have an Alvarez 6 string acoustic that is very nice. Seems like Alvarez is underrated.

I bought this and a Peavey Raptor (both in sad shape) for $25. I sold the Peavey for $35. So if you do the math, this one cost me about -$10, but I bet it's worth twice that!

That's the one for me, and this thread made me to take her out of her case.
She is with me since 2004. Bought her new at a discount price of 570€. She has all pups swapped to Seymour Duncans. (59, Alnico 2 pro single, alnico 2 hb).

My wife (girlfriend at the time) bought me one of these around 2005 for my birthday. I think they were US$60 new.

Synsonics brand something or other. Holds a tune well but I need to dress the frets. I'm just holding on to it until I have no other guitars left to mod then I may take a stab at it. Kinda doubtful though.

I've debated on getting rid of it to free up space but can't quite do it.

"So, while Synsonics is technically "Gretsch" (in terms of being owned by Fred Gretsch), it's not really a "Gretsch" in terms of being a "Gretsch Guitar"."

I got this piece of junk Yamaha for buying a guy a pack of cigarettes (So I guess $5?). I think it's from the early 80's. It's in horrible shape. When I got it, there were two bridge pins missing, no strings, and 2 of the tuners were broken off. I had some guitar stuff in a drawer so I put different bridge pins, different saddle, new strings, cleaned and conditioned the fretboard, adjusted the truss rod (A LOT), changed the nut and changed the tuners to some old USA reversible Grovers. It still looks like a piece of junk but now it actually plays and sounds pretty good. I use it for alternate tunings so I can keep my other acoustics in standard. Right now it's in the weird Jimmy Page Rain Song tuning, but I usually have it in open E or open G for Stones songs and stuff like that.

Considering it's condition, I probably got ripped off.

I tried bonding with my acoustics and just didn't happen so they rarely get played.

You were able to fix it and it makes noises you like. Seems worth it to me. I gave up a cigarette habit to pay for a guitar hobby so I'm on the opposite side of the coin.
I've never really been drawn to acoustic guitars, but I'd make an exception in the case of the Vince Ray models:
