Way too many other ‘knobs’ to deal with in my life already @BGood
^^^ Now I know that is incorrect ^^^
Top Hats have straight sleeves & Bells have curved sleeves.
But on the other hand, who really gives a $#!^
Tell that to Stew Mac, Philadelphia Luthier, Guitar Fetish, ToneMan, Amber Guitar, and countless other reputable vendors that sell "bell" and "top hat" as the same thing.
Beyond that, to my eyes, they look nothing like a Top Hat....a bucket or "Gilligan" hat perhaps....
I can’t help it if they can’t tell a straight line from a curved line.
But, again, on the other hand, who really gives a $#!^
If you only knew what people give shit for
I first realized that when I saw "how many " Stratocaster models there are. But they all look identical to me. Telecaster, there's more than 1 model ? Nahhh ... Carved top Les Paul ? They all look pretty much the same to me.
Then there are, tuners, bridges, tailpieces, pointers, tremolos, pickguards, etc, etc.
Oh, I dig the detail @BGood, & this is certainly not directed at you Jean, but I just can’t cop the incredibly petty point scoring by one or two that has seen a very good & truly knowledgeable mate of mine decide not to be around here any more
I think you've got me wrong here, it's not a matter of point scoring, I have yet to find a vendor that differentiates a bell from a hat because of a wee curve. Hell, it's not even something I'd even take notice of as anything more than a variation of a basic design.
Honestly, I haven't found one with a curve either.
Not saying they don't exist, but that's way too corksniffer for me to care about. "It was only on the 19XX -19YY Bleh model....."
I'd rip the things off and put whatever I like on the thing. Be it notched speed knobs or aluminum knobs from an amp supply house.
Dome feels better, but that's only a preference.
I put dome Tele knobs on all my Strats. I love the feel and the looks.
The domes were in the running for my Strat, but I found these instead.
Hmm, I guess I can see the difference. The part where the numbers are is straight vs. curved.
My beef is with the horrid amber color, lol.
Ok, I guess there are some colors of guitar they sort of go with, but some are just outright mismatched with the color scheme.
I mean come on...
Ok cut it out!...
Straight talkin’ ... & definately throwing the €pi-Brethren no BS curves here
<---- Hmm, you got this smiley labeled as "LOL"?
Looks more like an evil proctologist to me, lol.
There’s ALWAYS a ‘passage for a proctologist’ near-abouts to here Jeff... Butt (sic) ‘nuff said me thinks
I like those.
I agree completely, some of the bursts come to mind.
On Epi / Gibby style axes I prefer the notched speed knobs.
I think they'd look pretty decent on that blue LP too.
Yeah I prefer the speed knobs too. Never saw the notched ones, or maybe I just never really noticed, but they're pretty cool too.
Besides chrome, those would look awesome in a black LP.
