Anybody own or tried that model ? Reviews are good and I don't need another amp. But I'm getting one for 150 Canadian pesos.
Phoqu'n Yeah ! That tiny thing is a monster and loud, real loud. I don't mean loud for a small amp, I mean LOUD ! Maybe as loud as my AD60VT ! There is a real wide tonal range with the single knob and gain goes from squeaky cleans to fat roaring OD in a non linear fashion. From none to 2/3rd of the way it is nicely progressive, then the last 1/3rd just blows you away. I think I'll have some fun with this ant amp. I only played it throught the 2X12 for now. I'll try the 2X10 later and then a 1X12.
One of these are on my amp short list. 50W though, I can barley handle the volume of my 1W amp... What's it like at lower volumes, does it lose its mojo?
No it's still great. Since it has a 4/8/16 ohm switch, the power output looks like this: 50W RMS@4 ohm 25W RMS@8 ohm 12.5W RMS@16 ohm There is also a switch for flat or deep EQ, that is a little like a loudness switch.
The more I play it, the more I think that if it had reverb (yeah yeah I know ... pedal), it could very well be my sole do it all amp. Seem like a great platform for pedals but haven't tried any yet, too much fun as is.
Still a blast 2 weeks later. I now play it with this 12" cab. it takes pedals very well. A light chorus gives it that je ne sais quoi.
Another thing I wondered about it was the weight. Does the weigh of the instrument cable drag it around or off the cab? I saw one at L&M and I seem to remember it feeling almost weightless. that was at least a year ago though.
I guess it depends on what it's sitting. Mine didn't have its rubber boots, so I stuck chair felt pads under and on that black plywood cab, it doesn't budge. But the cable is never pulling either. If I used it on stage, I'd Velcro it to the cab or something, like a pedal on a board. Or it could also be on a pedalboard it's so small
