Looks brilliant Digger, you have a fantastic set up there.

I started to watch the F1 yesterday evening in the conservatory but the rain on the roof was noisy so I went into the living room to continue watching it. it went a bit chilly and My missus already had the central heating on :wow: It's June for heavens sake :frown:

    Thanks Ian,

Especially nice on a day like yesterday & hard to believe it is winter!

Is anyone else finding this place running a bit slow, as I have today?

So it’s moving and stacking firewood today as I finished splitting a big pile yesterday!

I can see both viewpoints, but Lewis essentially did the same thing to Ricciardo iirc a couple of seasons ago and nothing happened. I really don’t think Vettel realized where Lewis was.

I think it was a diabolical decision myself, the strict ruling ruined a great race, it was going to be a great race to the finish and go down to the wire as to who would win.

Off to pick our daughter up shortly as she's taking her Ford Kuga (Escape) in for repairs yet again.
That thing has been an expensive car regards repairs. The diesel pump system has been a constant problem & the damn emission system i.e. the DPF filter is constantly trying to regenerate itself and running rough, It's like running in limp mode constantly.
Most of her driving is 95% motorway driving. that's supposed to be the optimum way of driving these new diesels to keep that DPF system running as it should be.
I fear the bank of mam & dad will take a hit today. :frown:

    Dude, even NASCAR has spotters.

Although I will admit he's playing the victim card beautifully. I read a follow-up article https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/48581941
and damned if he doesn't sound like someone who got caught.
I'm guessing they have a history of these kinds of shenanigans?

In hockey, if you gain a reputation as a dirty player, the refs will end up calling borderline penalties against you or adding infractions if you start getting out of hand.

Second place ain't so bad though, is he in a contract year or something?

Seriously? Spotters? Unless they hail from Krypton and the earth’s yellow sun has given them immeasurable powers - among them x-ray vision - there’s no possible way anyone can see a car the entire time it’s running through 3-4 miles of Belgian forest. Or Canadian or Italian parks. Or the street circuits. Bahrain is the only track you might be able to see the car most all the way around, but at the far side, they’re over a mile away, and they’ve even built up elevation changes.

Shenanigans are part and parcel of F1, although the level of whining has increased in the last decade or so. Lewis and Seb have done their fair share of it over the years. I think the fairest thing that could have happened was - and this is stretching the rules - they decided that Lewis had the position, even though he didn’t really, and Seb should have dropped back to second, then let them race on. It looked like Vettel could have retaken the lead based on his pace, but either way that would have been an imminently more satisfying outcome.

Nothing exciting happening here today, just more wood stuff.

I carted a pile of split wood and stacked it yesterday. Bloody hard work and the back is grumbling at me this morning.

Just needs to be in the air and sun for a bit and it will be good wood. I’ll move the splitter and maybe get started on some green stuff that needs stacking for next winter. I like to be 2 years ahead if I can be.

I agree all this handbags at ten paces & throwing their toys out their pram is ridiculous, It's getting as embarrassing as football (soccer variety) when they roll about on the floor in agony when another player tackles them lightly.

Nothing so energetic for me, it's still raining here with lots of standing water.
The guy whom we bought the new wardrobe off was supposed to be coming to collect it today but our daughter has parked her car right up to the steps leading into the house blocking it and gone out with her mate for the day taking her car keys with her :frown: we will have to cancel the collection today.

The local council never turned up to collect the old wardrobe yesterday:mad: as arranged so I'm still waiting to hear back from them. what a pain in the backside this wardrobe malarkey has been.

We went out for tea last night and I was fortunate to escort 2 lovely ladies.

Today it’s a lunch at the TAFE cooking school which is for the executive of the art society. Usually interesting food and it will be a good bunch of people there.

Will try to do some work before then. Burnable material here gets taken down the paddock to our BIG burn pile and I still need to drop a big tree that’s a little close but once that’s down I’ll get it burned up. It’s all foliage and natural materials.

I was trying to take a retaining bracket off the battery holder on the splitter yesterday and a 1/2” socket exploded into bits. Tried soaking the nut with WD40 but it’s looking like I might need some heat on the thing. I’ll grab another socket in town today!

I love that! Toys out of the pram, too, but handbags at ten paces makes me think of wigs on the green, a saying the wife and I picked up off Downton Abbey!
