Well, this time I can't say I had GAS. This time it was my wife that bought me a new axe. She and a couple of her girlfriends like to go to estate sales, and today, she came home with this 'beauty"

    NRA Guitar.jpg

A limited edition, NRA AR shaped guitar, signed by Ted Nugent. As a guitar it's POS made in China, but as a collectible, it's priceless. :dude:

    It screams: "Play Stranglehold !"...

This is the first AR-shaped guitar I've seen with the NRA logo and Ted Nugent's signature. Is it an actual signature or a reproduction. If it's actual, there must be a big market for it - especially around election time.

    It
It appears to be an actual signature in silver ink pen. I did a search and found a few photos of these, and all the signatures look just a little different. There's also a video of Uncle Ted signing these.

According to this, there were 1200 consecutively numbered and signed guitars. Mine is # 0376.

Regardless of politics, I think it's pretty metal and I'd probably rock it.

    Congrats!

I think I'll probably sell this after I play around with it for a week or two.

Let me know if there is any interest.

Having the Nooge's signature on it makes it worth less than whatever it would be worth otherwise.

Cool catch. Curiously do you have a COA on the signature?

No, mine didn't have a COA with it. In fact I was wondering about that, because the guitars, which were available only for special NRA events through Friends of the NRA, did not say that a COA was included with the package.

So, a short time after I got it, I called Friends of the NRA to inquire about this and they told me there was no certificate or any other paperwork included in the box. The "proof of authenticity" was the serialized back neck plate, as far as they were concerned.

    neck plate.jpg

So the few listings that say they have a COA, it's either a fake, or it's a COA generated by the reseller, like some dealers generate their own. There are tons of these dealers in places like Las Vegas that have signed memorabilia, and the so called COAs that accompany them are generated by them, not by the manufacturer or the artist that signed them.

So if you find one for sale, and it has a COA, it's nothing more than a means to "sweeten the pot" or jack up the price, but it was not an original item that came from the factory.
