I really started getting into building pedals during the pandemic, and acquired a few others over the last few years. I figured that eventually I'd get around to revamping my board.

Well a couple things happened and I made my move. I bought a Boss Nextone Special that has an...
Frankly, I wouldn't really know how today went. Other than being up briefly monitoring for FedEx while SWMBO was out getting her eyes checked, I've been asleep all day.
I got the updated Moderna jab yesterday evening, and true to form: it kicked in / I started hitting the wall about 9 hours...
I can't fault you for swapping it out. Presumably Switchcraft? While they are serviceable for a good while for a lot of people, sometimes an upgrade is for the best.
At least you tried to service yours before chucking it in the Phuket bucket.
I get a Duluth Trading Co. gift card every Christmas from the in-laws which I use to rotate out any underoos that are worse for wear. As a kid I'd have been mortified at the thought, but as a middling aged fellow, I rather look forward to the annual gift card.
No fuss, no muss, and if pressed...
I've been saying since the top, that the lack of an effects loop is ultimately what moved me to look for a new amp.
Ultimately, it's also what turned me off the otherwise very interesting ToneMaster line.
I'm guessing you didn't take the time to use any of the software? Change out any on board...
When I was building my G400, the Triple Shots let me cover a lot of ground with just the one guitar. Granted, you need to pick a pickup (or set) that "does the thing" in all of the positions, but it can be a useful tool if you're limited to one axe for whatever reason.
Umm actually... 🙄
Dang guys, just be happy dude got his axes. If Epi decides to another run in 10 years and put binding on the old style headstock "greatest hits" style - do you think the average player is going to care?
Not everything has to be period correct on a new guitar.
A nice trio.
Thanks for confirming what I thought I remembered with your sig. The last reissue was about 10 years ago.
The current models however, benefit from the improvements Epi has made over the intervening years. So good stuff.
SWMBO is a recent convert to the Air Fryer Corps, I can confirm everything you say about the food.
Another thing that's become a big hit in the house are these liners she found. Makes clean up a breeze and helps prevent cross-contamination should she make something breaded in the unit. Celiac...
I had a Mk1 Katana 50 for years. I found a couple of patches out in the wild that I was able to load in that I really liked, but I mainly used it as an ultra clean pedal platform.
I'm not going to hype up my Nextone Special on a Fender thread, (I have my own to do that), but it does what it...
Except that Siemens doesn't make vacuum tubes and hasn't for years if not decades and dang sure not in Germany. There are some NOS ones out there, but the on!y places making new ones are China (though supposedly they lost a factory in a flood) and Russia.
The Russians make the vast majority...
Meh. Last time I did a swap I just went straight to DiMarzio. I resisted the urge to get all fancy with bobbin color and (I think) caught a sale. Under $180 with taxes etc. for a set of Gravity Storms. Not super "cheap", but also not out of some goober's failed project.
I'd toyed with the...
A lightweight version of a popular amp from a venerated brand that doesn't require the maintenance of a tube amp? 🤔
Then you either run with whatever settings you dialed into the amp, or you keep a laptop (or whatever) with the software installed.
It's not as though you can't run old software...
