In my late 60's...geez that sounds awful. I'm a horn player, but I'm looking for another source of mental stimulation as I sense my motorcycle passion coming to a close. I like to tinker, so futzin' with guitars seems right up my alley. So far I've purchased a MIM Strat, a MIM Standard Tele, and most recently an Epi LP Special II. The LP was at a really stupid low price, and from the description, I was expecting a real dumpster fire.
What I found was a pretty straight piece that only needed strings, slight adjustment, and a good cleaning. It plays great, and I like the way it feels in these novice hands. Now for some pics, MC pic is just because it's a beast: 20230308_172227.jpg FB_IMG_1677554018013.jpg

Pretty LP Special and finding it at a bargain in 2023 is a win in and of itself. Looks in brand new condition. Probably someone's white flag of surrender for rarely/never used. Set up properly and it's a first reach or session ending play every time. I have a 2005 Squier Bullet SSS HT that usually has that honor because it took a little more effort to make even more playable than when it was passed on to me.

Welcome aboard!
Nice guitars, I like the look of that Tele.
I too am in my 60s and only picked up guitar again about 2 years ago.
I'm having a blast with it but it seems to take much longer to learn things than it did in my 20s.
Looking forward to hearing more from you.
