Hmmmm? Big riots here in Melbourne over the weekend too.

My daughter Kellie works as a teachers aid in a local primary school and it’s just been declared a Covid hotspot. One of the indigenous kids from an unvaccinated family bought it to school and now my daughter is in isolation having waited 6 hours for a test yesterday.

Kellie is severely immunocompromised and although she’s had both shots plus a booster, we are terrified of what will happen if she gets it.

I lost my mother and brother-in-law to Covid but my sister, my wife and I all had it but the wife and I were both vaccinated. My sister wasn't but she keeps pretty active and is a tough ole gal.
The wife and I are still waiting for the booster to come around our area.

    ¿Qué?
It's widely available, my sister up in BFE, Minnesota already got her and they roll up the sidewalks at 10pm.
CVS, Walgreens, any name brand pharmacy really. Heck, I got my initial shots at a grocery store.

If it's been 6 months since you got the last round -GO.

They skipped Nu and Xi because Nu sounded like New and Xi is a common name in Asia. But I still want to know what became of variants Epsilon through Mu.

I remember seeing a blip on Epsilon, but I'm guessing the others weren't different or widespread enough for concern. Or just weren't found where rich folks are.

I think using the Greek alphabet was extraordinary optimism.

I suspect omicron is already in the US, we just haven't found it yet.

Epsilon and Mu were variants of interest, not variants of concern. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variants_of_SARS-CoV-2

Cool, thanks! I was joking with old fraternity brothers about the naming convention, as we all had to learn and rapidly recite the Greek alphabet while pledging, only we ended it with a loud “Sir!” We all hoped we don’t get to variant “Sir!”

I had forgotten Mu had that minor hit. Delta climbed the charts so rapidly and has been such a popular download...

Please forgive the gallows humor, I live in Florida - 'nuff said.

The UK has nine cases of the Omicron variant to date. :frown: I had my flu jab recently & I'm not sure how long you have to wait after the flu jab to get the booster jab.

I got my Pfizer booster a few weeks ago. Now need to get my flu shot. Just a little gun shy. Took me 10 days to fully get over booster side effects. Was the worst “flu” I’ve had in five years.

I got my flu shot and Pfizer booster at the same time. No ill effects at all.

They lasted longer than I expected as well. I don't remember having a fever for either of the first two shots -probably because I slept through it - but this last one was unpleasant. Still better than being hospitalized or moving into the Folgers can.

Here its been 6 months which sees me have mine in January though Gaels said they have decided you can get it whenever you want it now. I might ring my clinic today and confirm that.
