I just purchased a Epi LP with a birdseye top. My research has told me they only made these birdseye tops from 1996-98. The serial is I00022193 which (i believe) means it was made in Feb. 2000, Korea and is the 193rd. made. I cannot find any info on them being made in 2000. Any thoughts?

Really really hard to give that kind of info if we don't see the guitar in detailed photos. This is a visual media and we're all suckers for gear porn. So ... let's see that LP and I'm quite sure you'll get inundated comments

I have a 96 Birdseye Classic. Made in Samick, Korea. Mine says "Les Paul Model" on the headstock and I've now seen 2 of these originals with (including mine) GIBSON on the truss rod cover.

Ahh, so that's a burst finish. May well be a 2000 model done for some retailer or who knows. The original "Birdseye Classic" was not a burst finish AFAIK.

Probably a rerun for either a dealer or a country. I have a 2007 LP Ultra 1 natural. I only saw one other ... from Australia.
