There's one for sale in my general locale. Price is very fair, but not a giveaway.

Should I be jumping up and down? What would you pay for a well-cared for one in the USA and consider it a great deal?

(S)G-310: MEH
(S)G-400: Could be cool, but I'm not as hep to the current used market as things have gone a bit wild lately.

which one ?

SG 310 (bolt-on) or SG 400 (setneck)

Made in Korea (stamped) by Samick (per serial number).

http://www.epiphonewiki.org/index/SG.php

Doh! Set neck, looks like a '74 ish style with the extended heel vs. the '61 style with minimal heel. Humbuckers.

How much also?

Go here & they'll give price history of similar guitars sold:

Epiphone SG | Reverb

$175 plus a couple hours round trip drive time.

I'll check Reverb but I was more interested in what people here would pay for one vs. the "market value" in these funky days.

So an old Korean G400 for $175 ? 100% YES, get it. They have a nice hunk of a body with no veneer. Pickups might not be the best, but OK.

Another question: What neck would this have? I see the G400 is noted as "Slim-Taper profile (2009-2013)". What about the mid nineties necks? How would it compare to "1961 Slim Taper "D" profile" on a '61 reissue?

Pretty much always the same on the run of the mill G400. But there will be variations due to finishing by hand.

$175 is exciting! As long as there's no signs of damage, truss rod works and the frets have life left, I'd pick it up if even just to have an extra husk to mod.

You mean the Special with P90s ? If so I had one and it has the thinnest neck ever, fettuccini like, very flexible.
Not so with the G400.

Guess I missed this. No, I meant a '61 SG Reissue, circa 2011. Modeled after the original SG. But it sounds like the same situation.
