Wow... that's equivalent to $2,220 NZ. A tad steep I'd wager. Certainly a damn sight more than I paid for mine.
However there are a couple asking similar prices on eBay.
And the ES-295 prices ... don't get me started on the ES-295 prices!!!!

IIRC I've paid € 550.- for mine back in 2019, it was a NOS from thomann.de
