I recently got a 2015 es335 dot studio ,which i have modded to add a further volume and tone control to make a standard type 2 pups ,two vol ,two tone and 3 way tog . i followed the standard wiring for that but find that the tone controls do nothing . any thoughts please ? pic shows what i have used .

Hi Ashlan. The schematic looks like the standard Seymour Duncan type wiring. What you really need to do is post pics of what you did to the guitar electronics.

Do you still have the electronics outside the guitar?

hi there , i have since gone all through the harness re soldering everything ,and that has done the trick ,all now working . As you say , i followed a standard Seymour Duncan schematic. Guitar much better now ,with the extra flexibility .

Is that what they call "modern wiring"?

Hi , i have used 50's style wiring on this ,as opposed to modern . its all about how you wire the cap ,causes subtle differances to tone and volume roll offs. Check this out online for details.
