Jury's out for the moment...mirrored pick guard was scratched up pretty bad. There was no plastic film over it. Surprising. It is a heavy LP. I think it's heavier than my Gibson custom. It looks cool though. Like the TT White Lightning Explorer, when i play them i get black stain all over my fingers. Is this some kind of dye? WTH???

To make them darker, I'm guessing. My recent Riviera P93 has a light colored fretboard and I have no black fingertips, but my J200CE with a darker board leaves em looking like I sorted coal.

I find if you polish the frets a bit the black residue does go away, sweet looking guit, how does it play?

My missus offers another explanation: Nickel turns her fingers black, so the frets could be the culprit.(I don't think so, but I've been married 41 years and know better than to argue.)

Word around the campfire is that you need to clean your frets. Seems they're not getting all of the Nevr-Dull (or similar) schmutz off of them before they ship.

Congrats! Love that finish! I haven't seen many matching headstocks. Speaking of which, is that headstock a bit elongated? It looks different than the new design.
