Happy Christmas to me! (And to you of course.) I actually bought this a few weeks ago, but somehow neglected to post it here. A Gretsch Electromatic G5438 Pro Jet. I'm calling her Gretchen.

Here she is with her older sister Joan, a Special Jet.

    Cheers, kids!

    Nice guitars,
I played a "JET" made by Fender in the 90's and while I loved the Guitar I could not bring myself to spend $1800 for it. I have yet to try one of the Electromatics I hear good things about them.

Thanks guys. Yeah, Woody, the consensus on the more recent Electromatic Jets seems to be pretty favorable. I had a pre-Fender '90s MIK Electro Jet Club, that was pretty meh. Giggable, but not anything special, even considering price. Then again, it was a bolt-neck cheaper model.

The two more recent setneck MIC Electromatic Jets I have are both pretty nice budget guitars. Each was intentionally chosen to get a specific "Gretsch" tone on the cheap. The goldtop to get into the Filter'Tron ballpark, and the red Special Jet to simulate a Dyna-Sonic, with the DeArmond 2000s.

Cool. I like doublecuts. Those are different pickups though, Gretschbuckers.

No. PRE-Fender Gretsch Electromatic Jet. Meaning, before Gretsch made whatever deal they currently have with FMIC (Fender Musical Instrument Corp.)

Haha, having lived in Florida since the early '70s, I had no idea who that was! But Google was my friend.
