14C and perhaps a few mm of rain?
Pretty much the middle of winter here.

At 10:23pm, still nice and balmy here. It was a scorcher today and my exterior thermometer hit 109 for a high.

I wonder what our heat index hit today.

:wow: Blimey! Texas is melting :thumb: I remember a guy on another guitar forum years ago in La Grange say the water from the cold water tap is warm as the heat penetrates the ground water pipes.

It's an overcast day here with a high of 15C / 59F I don't think I'll need any sun cream here today :thumb:

Yes, you can definitely forget about getting cold water directly from the tap in Texas (at least in Central Texas) during the hotter summer periods.

Fresh water for the dog. From the cold tap after running for around 10 seconds:

Looks like more of the same weather-wise today although we might get some relief in the next few days. Relief here is still hovering right around triple digits. Compared to the temperatures for the past week, I will be happy for any drop in temps we can get.

If I remember correctly, our water pipe is only about a foot to a foot and a half down. Taking a cold shower (no hot water added) is a different animal here than Minnesota.

LOL That water be cold up there in the north. I've still not sorted out that replacement sink with the fancy flexible tap yet

The trouble with this old house is we have a lot of lead pipework fittings that need to be de-soldered & re-soldered still in it & old imperial fittings, everything here is metric but you can get fittings with imperial fittings on one end & metric fittings on the other but they're far & few between
The thought of struggling underneath the cupboard trying to sort that out is fading fast :thumb: Oh! & the big fly in the ointment is I cant turn the water off because the stopcock broke off the lead pipe to turn the water off when we had the new condenser boiler fitted  That's another job that's been on the back burner.

Oh! yeah the weather, It's still crap with wall to wall thick dark cloud & the drizzle is still with us  , It's warming up though with a high of 17C today. It's supposed to be Summer & we have the house lights on today because of the gloom & we're still using the bleddy tumble drier to dry laundry. :frown:

The temps are heating up here with a high of 21C forecast for today. We still have the thick cloud with us though but very warm.
