We are expecting a top of 18C here today but there is talk of a BIG rain event by the middle of the week! That means I need to prepare with lots of wood and kindling under cover before it hits, maybe put the rubbish out for collection a day early. OTOH lots of run-off into our dam will revitalise things nicely.

Of course big rains can bring lots of erosion and damage too.

    Life vests for the cows?

Just after 5:00 AM looking out on some peaceful morning twilight. Sun won't rise for another half hour. I love this time of day.

We're lookin' at another sunny day in the mid 80s so I'm a happy camper. Good weather to keep pluggin' away gettin' ready for next weeks journey.

Still in the Lancashire heatwave with sunny skies & a high of 21C, the days are really lengthening now with 18 hours of light, even night time doesn't get all that dark now.

I gotta stop falling asleep at 8:00 PM and waking up at 3:00 AM.....or not. I do seem to get a lot of stuff done before the rest of the world here wakes up. Far fewer distractions too.

Crossing over into the 90Fs today. High of 92F and it's already nearly 60F. What's even better is the RH has parked itself in the comfortable 40%-50% range so there's been no need to run my humidifier in the gear room or keep my acoustic stowed.

I'm just two blocks from a major hospital and Level 1 trauma center which at my age is probably good right. LOL

While the sirens have been virtually silent all night the Flight for Life Helicopters have certainly been busy. There have been three comings and goings just within the past hour.

Eh, I have the opposite issue, I'm on a permanent graveyard shift schedule. Have been since I was 17. Sun comes up, I'm hitting the sack. Still do a bunch of crap, but time shifted.

We have a strong and active low system coming at us from the west combined with a system moving down the coast from the north. They are expected to meet and sit over the bottom right hand of the continent right over us! It’s called an "east coast low". These events are usually where most of our big rains come from and we are expecting significant totals over the next few days and into next week.

How much we get is conjecture and estimates vary widely. Some are saying up to 12” but BOM is telling us 80mm today which is a bit over 3”. It’s 5.30am and raining heavily. I have plenty of firewood in barrows under the verandah!

    Top expected today is 15C.

The last time we had 12” over a couple of days we were isolated as flooding cut the roads into town. I doubt that will be the case this time but you never know with the weather here.

Rain though nothing like the Weather “guessers” were predicting! It’s been too wet to check the rain gauge but I’m guessing about 3 inches or 75 mils.
More of the same coming. Very nice rain, thank you very much~

Up really early today and it's gonna be another hot one.

4:20 AM and it's already 65F headin' for 95F. Made some coffee and startin' some laundry. Gettin' an early start because I have a lot to do later this AM including dropping off one of my basses with my tech to have a new pickguard cut and installed.

Lookin' forward to Saturday when I can visit my two little princesses again. Gotta get some grandpa time in before my big trip back to the land of cheese and sausage, Wisconsin.

It’s not going to be bad here today but Mallacoota where we are going is crap! Might review plans and wait another day?

Cooling off just a bit today before plunging right back into the 90Fs again. Lookin' at a high of 80F under sunny skies.

We're under a massive high pressure dome without a drop of rain anywhere in sight for the next week. High and dry time.

We've enjoyed 70F weather that last few days with a awesome rain storm that started about 2am and lasted all day. Not so lucky this next week, high 90s, low 100s..
