It threatened off and on, but it didn't properly rain until the wee hours of the morning.
No rain here today but areas west of us are still reeling from the ferocity of the storms last week. In some areas its devastation and places east of Melbourne many houses have been crushed by falling trees, cars wiped out and almost a week later many have no power still. We dodged the bullet here this time thankfully.
It’s currently 6C and heading for 17C as a maximum today.
It’s 10:30pm and it’s 105 degrees.
Blimey! Zero that must be brutal trying to get some sleep in that kinda heat.
It was a hot day yesterday afternoon (for here) 21C & I ended up watering the lawns, Seldom have to do that here in the rainy county.
Another scorcher again today with sunshine blue skies with a high of 22C, I bet that's just a warm day for you guys lol. All going to change later today with rain & thunderstorms forecast for the next few days.
You see that pole in the pic! It's part of a 9 metre carbon fibre fishing pole that I tie a sponge to to clean the CCTV camera lens up on the walls of the house, I checked the monitor the other day & spiders had made webs across all 4 cameras
it's 25c sunny and no clouds today at the moment. It has been like that for the last week. Today temps should go up to about 30c today, up to 33c tomorrow.
Wow, you did dodge a bullet.
Well we did hit the 100F mark these past two days with no reason to believe we won't get there again today. It's around 70F now so at this altitude we do cool off nicely at night.
I'm headed eastbound later today which only means I'll be experiencing much of the weather we've had all over again but with more humidity. Hope Dad's A/C is working properly.
There’s talk that it will be a further 3 weeks before power can be restored to some of those homes. I doubt that there will be any generators in stock anywhere there for some time.
I've been meaning to buy one myself as I’ve made provision on our power board to plug one in quite easily.
Did you say a 9 metre fishing pole? Just a boat rod is it....Grin~
The spiders have been going nuts here too and I think I’ll get the house sprayed in spring.
Ha! You call them spider webs! These are spider webs...Grin~
Air conditioning and fans. Only way to roll. Post hurricane, the lack of power makes things uncomfortable, if not dangerous.
92°/33° and feels like it! The humidity has backed way off - for now - and 92° doesn’t feel all that bad in a casual encounter.
Light cloud with a high of 17C today, At last! the humid air seems to have gone with a fresher feel this morning.
Swelter in place orders. 110°f (43°c) here today. I'm setting up solar oven to bake chicken....
On the bottom of the world we are expecting just 14C today. Rain again, somewhere in the vicinity of 20 mils or just under an inch. The soil is still full from last week so it will run off and some go into our dam again. Good news!
I think I’ll light the fire early and settle in~
I'll take it!
Carbon copy of yesterday with light cloud & some sunshine. 17C top temp today.
The plants have been growing like crazy in this heat & I noticed most of the tomato plants have started to show tomatoes on them I had a spare seed potato left over when I was planting them out in March & emptied the bucket I planted it in yesterday, a handful of fresh baby salad potatoes will do nicely for a meal.
very humid, cloudy but dry and 25c. We are supposed to get rain and a thunderstorm later this evening
we had up to double of your °C
Looks like we're headed for another 110°f or hotter. Of course the local power authorities want us to set our AC to 78°f or higher. I want free Ice Cream. Guess we'll all be disappointed.
