It'll be somewhere around 71°F today in the Shenandoah Valley.

As much as I pine for Northeastern Minnesota, I have to admit I'm quite taken with Northern Virginia. It seems to be a good mix of things appealing to SWMBO and me.

Anyhoo, we did Skyline Drive yesterday.
I'd share pictures, but I'm kind of chomping at the bit to get out and find something else to do today. Perhaps when we get back.

Splendid today, starting at 62°/17°. Spent last evening with eldest lad, and since this morning dawned rather crisp for this time of year, I took advantage. Drove the winding route through the country from his door to the interstate - there are some S curves that are a delight to storm through, and very little traffic - with windows open enough to make a cross breeze and sunroof open to the skies! Tried to keep the mood when I got on the interstate, but the noise of bad pavement and other traffic was a bit much. It’s now 81°/27°, but low humidity, so it’s still warmly pleasant.

It was a scorcher yesterday (for here) hitting 21C & blazing sunshine all day long, I dug the fans out of the garage and set them up in the house, Had a few ice cold ciders to cool down & nearly broke out the shorts :D
Overcast day today & a tad cooler with a high of 16C.

19C maximum here today and a perfect day for working outside but I have a window cleaner coming this morning and have to be inside when he is unfortunately. My young helper Shawn is coming this morning and I’ll get him splitting firewood for Roz.

My office yesterday!
I have a pile of high value logs up on the top boundary.

My back wont allow me to bend for long with a chainsaw but I got a bit of wood.

Do you ever sell any of that timber to the joiners/cabinet makers? That exotic wood would sell like hotcakes here.

Another bright sunny day here again with a high of 19C, It's been over a week with no rain at all  Very un-Lancashire like :D

No mate it’s all encrusted in carbon where the bark burned. Also we aren’t strictly allowed to drop trees even if dead. Big fines apply.

I have this terrible memory and sometimes forget~

I had this pile assessed and none of it was thick enough to mill hence the firewood.
