I think I just got another guitar

Yup, it's an Ibanez RG320. I walked into church this morning to practice with the band before hand, and one of the guys asked me to take a look at a guitar. After a couple minutes, he says "you know, I haven't had time to give this thing the work it needs, and I have 13 other guitars anyway, so do you want it?"

Obviously I said yes! It's the same color as my other Ibanez, and I think (by looking at the serial number) it's a 2001. The frets have massive divots in the cowboy chord area along with some wear up around the 12th fret. I'll probably just get some wide/medium fret wire and redo the whole neck (all 24 frets of it!). I think eventually I'll drop a Dimarzio Super Distortion and a Dominion into her, but that won't be for a while.

I can salvage all but frets 2-9 from the looks of it. There are some big divots in the frets. One is almost to the fretboard!

Nice, dark rosewood fretboard. It's even a little darker in person.

The frets in question...

And now for the gut shot! I'm thinking it isn't stock in here... Lol. It's also missing both back plates. No biggie for me though.

I can definitely tell it's the same finish as my other Ibanez electric. It's wearing in similar ways. It's getting glossy where an arm/leg was rubbing against it and in some of the most worn spots it's through the grey paint and to the clear seal coat or whatever it is.

So far, I'm liking it. I might need to put a shim under the neck to give it a better angle, but overall action is medium low after I did a slight set up this morning. It plays pretty nice, low frets aside!

I'm a big fan of the SD, but I haven't tried the Dominion.
I say go for it, although you Might find the SD a bit much in the basswood, it's a personal preference thing.

Its funny, you can totally tell someone's playing style by their fret wear. Strange to see a cowboy chord player with a Floyd Rose equipped guitar.
