Well, Saturday. Our local Honda wizard pronounced our Odyssey as Unworthy of Further Expenditure, so I went and found this as our new market wagon. A 2008 Honda Element in the rare Royal Blue Pearl. We had one before the Odyssey and it gave us seven years of trouble free motoring. We’re stoked!

Nice. The Element was marketed to 20-something people as a first vehicle that they can carry all their stuff in, but the older generation quickly realized how practical it is.

I’ve only seen one young person in an Element, all slammed and such. When we had our first one, I met up a few times with the local Element Owners Group, and they were all my age or older. I had the only SC, as they’d just come out.

I think the Element was a North American model only. I learned not too long ago that what you guys call an Accord is a far smaller car sold over here under their upscale Acura badge.

Easy to vacuum all the pug hair. Nice pick, looks like it has been taken care of.

We have a 2006 EX-P with the manual transmission and the real-time 4wd. If you told me 20 years ago I would own and love an Element I might fight you, but it's true that once you experience the practicality its hard not to love them. We use ours for lugging bikes, ski trips, beach trips, camping, or hauling the pug around.

We bought our first one when the Ford Windstar the bride was using to transport dogs and shop to agility trials got possessed electrically, so we traded for the Element. Loved it thoroughly until we grew the herd to four pugs and outgrew the Element, but before I could replace it the bride got hit by a Suburban and totaled the toaster. We don’t do the agility circuit any longer, the Odyssey we bought has begun to crap out, and I always knew I wanted another toaster!
