Hi, new to the forum, been playing since late 70’s - still crap - but everyday the journey just gets better… I’ve amassed a few guitars over the years (as you do ;-)) and always found my Epiphones just as reliable and often better finished than any of my Gibsons (maybe I’ve been plain lucky (or unlucky depending on yr view).

I‘d started years back with an SG from Korea (the one that never should have gotten away!), re-inherited my lads 09 1959 Anniversary Lester (actually quite glad he never got on with it) and I’ve a slightly odd 1998 korina 58 explorer that I’ve never quite gotten to the bottom of history-wise… really hoping someone here can help me ID it!

Great value, great sounding and really nicely finished - I like the fact that most here can see past the name on the headstock, do not get drawn into the marketing mens dream and are here to enjoy their guitars and make some noise.

Welcome to our little forum for Epiphone fans like you. Glad to have you here. As for questions regarding that 1998 Korina Explorer we do have some archival threads here but I also suggest you seek out our guy Paruwi (Peter). He's a very good source for that kind of info as are a few others here as well.

You might also seek out Lancpudin (Ian) whose from Lancashire, England. Sounds as if you to might get on very well. Anyway, hope you'll stick around and post often. We'd also love to see some photos of your guitar fleet.

Thanks for all the ’welcomes’ …beginning to feel quite at home already

Guess it’s time to jump in as I’ve a whole bunch of €pi related questions circling away over-head (they’re in a holding pattern like Heathrow on a bank holiday just now). The sensible ones should land (and be an education), the less so will miss the runway (I’m braced for the occasional bump lol) and hopefully the really daft ones will fly off before I’ve had chance to make a fool of myself (I keep telling myself there’s no such thing as a stupid question, but c’mon, course there is)!
