Had to get this because my favorite color is green. So far I’m very impressed with the quality of the construction. I’m going to swap out the pots and caps because when I turn the volume and tone past 7 it turns into complete mud. Sorry about my weak photography, I tried to color correct the picture to try to bring out more of the green.

People really love Those gold tone humbuckers.

The dearmond series was pretty high quality,
Cool version of the guild S1.

Nice color. Is it an early 2000s model?

I think so, haven’t really researched it. All I know is that it sounds and plays great.

I was surprised how good the SG sounds. When I turn down the volume it doesn’t get muddy at all. I decided to crack open the crack open the control cavity to take a look at the pots. They’re full sized 500k pots but the wiring is a huge mess. Eventually I’ll have it clear up in awhile. Pretty sure that these aren’t the original pots because some of the soldering is messy.

Congrats! I've owned several DeArmonds with GoldTones, although not one of S-series. I still have a Jet Star.

DeArmond made excellent guitars during their short time making guitars; I bought two on blow-out

Just a quick update. I finally had a chance to clean, oil the fretboard, and restring her. I’m really happy with how this guitar has worked at. The pickups are pretty bright for humbuckers and are very well balanced. I had to tweak the setup and pickup height and she sounds great. I’m now keeping an eye out for the natural mahogany model.

DeArmond is to Guild what Epiphone is to Gibson, maybe better.

Those gold foil "DeArmond USA" humbuckers on the MIK DeArmonds are some of the sweetest pickups I've ever played....punchy, spongey, responsive. The pups are almost worth as much as the guitar itself.
