When I got my 2020 LP Special, the bridge pup was touching the strings and the bridge was about ½" from the body. I could see a space between the base of the pickup cover and body surface. So yes, there are some Friday night shifts in that factory too.

Doesn't matter, the cheapest you can find.

Trogly faced the exact same problem:
Looks like there are different types of springs on the bridge and neck pickup.

    Tone springs?

    Also, I despise Trogly.

I don't see why. I only watch his vids because he takes the guitars apart and shows the cool stuff inside like we are all always talking about. No one I've seen on youtube does that on a regular basis with brand new guitars. Yes, he's a snobby Gibson fanboy and I don't watch the parts where he does his playing demos but at least his channel has one thing going for it. Or maybe it's cool to just not like him idk and idc

That's not enough? The guy just comes off like a used car salesman. You like him? Good for you.

No I don't. That was exactly my point. Watch whatever the hell you want. I didn't see anyone else on youtube taking apart the guitar that this thread is about.

I'm sorry, what exactly was your point? I'm not going to watch somebody just because he's the among the first to take apart a particular guitar.

Liking or disliking Trogly is not really the point, is it? Point is he experienced the same issue as Nikki M did, and Trogly has a plausible explanation to why it happened.
Epiphone is to blame by choosing wrong pickup mounting springs and perhaps too short screws. Hardly a QC thing, as it most likely left the factory with the pickup in position.

    Pretty much.
Yup, and you're solving your own problem by just purchasing a couple of springs and not making it a giant conspiracy involving a Pierogi shop in Shenzhen and the lizard people.

I'm sure you'll get dinged for having non-standard springs when Zippy buys it from the estate - that's the true damage done. :laugh2:

A silly question I guess, but sure the spring isn't attached to the pickup? The pickup is magnetic you know.

I included pick up photos ..page three-ish of this thread..
checked under the pick up..in the cavity..no joy..
I suspect..it probably sprung over the assembly workers shoulder hitting the wall..landing on the dirty floor..where it's to remain forever..forgotten..alone..
actually it probably has lots of other sprung springs for companionship..
Pickups are magnetic?..when did this start? *wink

Go **** yourself. Is that clear enough for you or do I need to explain what the asterisks mean?

I'm not allowed to have an opinion about a YouTube guitar clown now? One that you said you don't like either? Hilarious.

You go have fun being mad about nothing, because that's what this is.

You're right there. "Nothing". I must say I skip Trogly's playing in his demo's, just because it's clear that he isn't an experienced and skilled player. Still I find his videos more interesting than most other youtubers. I like his format.

I admit, I don’t like Trog, but I have purchased a guitar from him some years back. I like his reviews, he does let you know what to expect with unboxing videos, but that’s about all I’m there for.
To each their own. I still want one of these Lazarus to try out….

Well I ordered one. We’ll see how deep the finish is and do it up like I did the last ‘59 I had lol!!

Kidding. I have a set of OX4 low winds that have been looking for a home for awhile…

The format is the best thing he has going for his channel. I just don't care for the guy and how he presents things. He'd fit right in over on MLP.
But that's, like, my opinion man.

Y'all can like things I don't - never said anything different. Anyone wanna come at me because butterscotch makes me wretch? :laugh2:

I'd be glad to hear how the spring transplant went - in any case.
