That's good info. If I ever decide to go back to a smart phone I'll download it. I gave up my smart phone for a fliptop because when I quit working I didn't need a smart phone anymore.

I tried the Boss version... I'll stick to my Korg Pitchblack Advance. It has strobe tuning too.

Peterson must make pretty good tuners. I read an interview the other day on MojoTone's site with the guitar tech for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and he said he uses a Boss TU-3 and then a Peterson tuner after that for fine tuning because it's so accurate and apparently the best he's ever used for capo tunings.

The reason i started look into the Peterson Strobe Tuner App was i saw a Rig Rundown with metallica, and both kirk's & James guitar techs uses that app (on a taplet).
it was kirks tech who was showing it i believe, and he was saying it was one of, if not the best and most precis tuning app out there, right now. - if its true or not idk, but it really peaked my interest.
and so far i must say, its prob the best tuner i ever used..

I use peterson strobes but I have not tried the app. I do my own guitar setups and they are great for setting intonation. If the app is as good, that is a GREAT deal!

The main problem with an app, it that it's only as good as your phone's microphone. It'd be a good backup for sure, but I don't think I'd rely on it in place of a pedal or rack tuner.

Yeah, no. $10 is too much for a backup to a backup. If I don't have the pedal, I have a headstock tuner in the case. The Boss tuner is free, and there are others that'll get me close enough.
