Funny this thread should pop up... the Specials are on sale here this weekend for $90 (HB or P90 models), and I just ordered a worn TV Yellow one... can't stop the madness, I guess...

All I have is the stock photo for now...

Real ones to follow in a few days...

I was overflowing with Specials for a while.

On the left, a $50 black ME951 First Act that had a humbucker and a Fender style bridge to start with. Hacked that one for fun. It now has a 2014 Gibson MM P90S in it and it is a screamer. Neck had to be shimmed like crazy, but the action on it is very nice and low.

Middle is THE dream guitar everybody wants, but I couldn't bond with it either. It sat funny in your lap and everything felt heavy about it. I like light gear. But what a beauty !

Right is my beloved P90 Special 1. That one will never be sold. The original Epi pickups weren't bad, but I got a deal I couldn't refuse on a set of Tyson Tone '57 Wraptails. High output and very articulate.

And lets not forget the '61 Reissue SG you all know about.

Nice guitars :thumb::thumb::thumb:

how long is the scale lenth on them ?
it might be an optical illusion, but it looks really short, compared to this one

SG Junior in TV Yellow. Schaller 456, Gibson Deluxe tuners and, of course, reflectors! All it needs is a really good pickup with a push/pull pot.

Ahhh ... it kills me to see such a beautiful loved guitar with the inspection sticker still on after all this time.
It should be your next mod, before the pickup.

How's the neck on that one. One I tried recently had such a flat and wide fretboard. Or maybe it was just me.

Yeah, that should probably come off soon.

The neck on this guitar is somewhat chunky like a G-400. Chunkier than my G-310 or '61 Special. The fretboard seems normal for an Epiphone.
