Lastly, the ‘95 Martin 000-1. Got it in ‘96 for $500. Still stoked on that deal. That’s my quiver minus the ‘39 O’ahu lap steel.

Nice guitar! Mine had a plastic nut which I replaced with a Graph Tech.

I can't say I have any experience with that device, but I'm guessing it's essentially a noise gate of some form.

I deal with hum by means of conductive adhesive copper shield tape in the cavities all linked together and tied to ground.

Thanks Raiyn. The copper tape idea is one I’ve read about for a while and have now seen multiple YT vids on it. I’m considering doing that now that I’ve found a reliable, reasonably priced tech here.

This is the unit I’m referencing: https://www.guitarcenter.com/Ebtech/2-Channel-Hum-Eliminator.gc

It seems to be different than a standard gate; it may do the job but the description makes it out to be something to use when you have an unbalanced A/B switch between two separate amp rigs.

Just be cognizant of the fact that bad shielding can be worse than no shielding. It all has to have continuity with itself, the other cavities, and your ground output or it's just going to be an antenna. Shield paint might seem like a reasonable alternative, but ensuring measurable continuity is *cough* challenging. I've had tons of success with copper tape. I've either ran a wire connection from cavities or soldered a branch wire to the ground braid in something like a vintage style wired Lester. It depends on what I've been given how I approach it.

As for that pedal, are you planning on putting that in the effects loop?

My new FAVORITE guitar! It's a 24 year old Korean "Birdseye Classic" picked up on a whim for $300. I love this thing...plays great, sounds incredible!

About 90% of all Epiphone for the past 12 or so years has that Custom Shop Limited Edition stamp, and there's no such thing as an Epiphone Custom Shop. All marketing, but it's cute.

Those look funny, like an animal pelt :naughty:
