I had one (Korean LP Special Double Cutaway in TV Yellow), but I could not really bond with it
Same here, but it didn't stop me from eventually loving P90s.
I'm seriously considering adding the new Prophecy Les Paul in Red Tiger Aged Gloss to give my other Epi's a new friend. SW is out of them. GC has them, but I'd rather order from SW as I think the guitar will show up in the best condition through them. Part of me wants to step into the Gibson realm to see if the hype really holds up. I can afford it, but Gibson doesn't make anything like the new Prophecy.
If I was gonna go Gibby I'd buy a husk over on STRATosphere and build it how I wanted from the jump rather than do the teardown myself and have parts to sell off.
1986 MIJ Epiphone Wilshire II
Bare bone rock machine right there !
Looks unplayed !
Plays great, sounds great, and has a few small finish dings on the top in back maybe from a stand.
I can only find one picture and one page with any info on this guitar on the internet and no one as of yet has said "Oh that's nice, look here's mine"..... I think this ting is pretty rare, at least in the states. Anyone know any more or can post something on this model beside the Wiki page and Wiki page image? I would welcome some more info and images.
I just checked the old €pi-catalogs from the 80s to 90s - not mentioned in any of them
It is just a mystery beyond the Epiphone Wilshire Wiki page.... Makes me feel special to own one. Wonder what the value is.
these tops are really nice.
I would put them in the range of MiJ Squiers from that time range,
so I guess in the $600-800 range
Howdy, hope im doing this right! Can someone help to id this Epi? I hed Believed it to be it be in S 900.. However I cannot find a match for the headstock. Some are close but still different.. The serial number on one site says its a 97, but the sticker may have been put on it?!?!? It looks like an S 900 smells like an S 900 taste like an S 900 but the headstock says otherwise. I haven't been able to find a match. Note the location of the lettering to the truss rod cover abd the shape of the cover. Any help would be Appreciated
Edit :can anyone tell which of the three trems was original for this cut out?
I think it must be one then:
Made from 86-88. 3 different headstocks. All the serial numbers came on stickers back then. I don't remember if those can be deciphered but @Paruwi will know.
Thanks for the input. The only confusion is that the pics i found of the available headstocks does not match my headstock, but your link shows a white one that may be the same.
