"Done" Pffft. The Pro Bowl is tomorrow and the Super Bowl is next week.

That, and it's still hockey season!

F1 hasn't been fun since the cars had six wheels. :p

Friggen rule book is a damn library!

The Pro Bowl is an embarrassment. An all-star game that has turned into flag football. (No, it really is in case anyone didn't know!). They should just not have it anymore. None of the star players or dudes playing in the Superbowl even participate because it has always been trash and they don't want to get hurt.

On the upside, March Madness will begin in a little bit over a month from now. It's the only time that I watch college basketball. I always like filling out the bracket and seeing the lower seeded teams beat one of the powerhouse schools.

I've never gotten into racing so I don't know anything about F1 besides the fact that they don't drive in an oval and only make left turns.

Now that all this ball fondling has ended, F1 in a bit more than a month! Can Mercedes recapture the crown? Will Ferrari stop shooting themselves in the foot? Can Red Bull stop fudging the rules, or worse, having a championship handed to them? The mind reels!

Reels......those are for fishing. I thought you wanted to talk racing. ;)

I had an interest in motor sports when I was younger but it must have subsided over the years. I'll need to edumucate myself on it again.

Would you prefer that they go all out in a meaningless game and risk their careers getting injured?

Only going back a few years you've got the 2016 Pro Bowl where then Cincinnati star tight end Tyler Eifert tore a ligament in his ankle during the 4th quarter of that game. That injury required surgery to repair and that significantly effected his next season. Or Drew Brees dislocating his (non-throwing) elbow in 2007?

But if an indoor flag football game isn't enough, I'm sure they'll put it back on the beach.

Oh, wait

Damn near lost his leg? Oh...

I watched the Pro Bowl games this year and it look like they had a lot of fun doing stuff that kids could do in the park with minimal equipment.

The only thing I didn't like is the musical intermission with (let me paste this) Rae Sremmurd which is NOT a Skynyrd cover band... just saying.

The Pro Bowl has always been fan service for the fans of the teams that didn't make the Super Bowl.

I cut my racing teeth on drag racing and stock cars in the mid 60’s, but when I had the measles, my granddad brought me some magazines and comics to read since back then it was considered bad to watch TV or even be in a normally lit room. One of the magazines was a Road&Track, when they were the epitome of automotive journalism and feature writing, and I learned about Ferrari, Porsche, and yes, BMW, and that sometimes racing drivers could turn both directions. I abandoned drag racing, stock cars, and most oval track racing, although I’d watch the Daytona 500 and Indy because of the tradition, and seeing the drivers wrestle those overweight stock car sleds on a proper race track was quite the spectacle. Gave up on Indy Cars when they stopped being proper open wheel cars. I can appreciate the safety aspect, but since the black day at San Marino in 1994 when two F1 drivers, one being arguably the best of all time, were killed, there’s only been one fatality in F1 since, it was because of a screw up removing a car during a blinding rainstorm in Japan, and the stewards had a heavy lifting “tractor” where it shouldn’t have been.

No. I would prefer they stop wasting people's time and cancel the meaningless game altogether.
*cough*

I also enjoy the NHL skills competition and All-Star game / mini tournament. It's supposed to just be entertaining fluff.
Greed.....raw greed.
You've just described professional sports. We pay billions to watch grown men play games or drive super expensive billboards around a track.

Someone is always getting paid - nobody is forced to watch.

In more interesting news,

Apparently he cancelled interviews for the Broncos DC and the Arizona HC positions to take the gig.

One thing is for sure that soft Don-a-shell D is D-O-N-E.

Gone from Vikesville but with Fangio now the Dolphins DC I wouldn't be surprised to see Ed team up with Vic again down your way.

I've never watched an NFL or Superbowl game, I simply don't have the patience for it.
18min of play in a 3hr broadcast? [email protected] right off! In reference to injury, pro NFL players can only look forward to reaching 59yrs of age on average.
Even though I'm a New Zealander I have no time for rugby of any type, though last year when visiting my brother we watched an AFL game.
Full on , non-stop action.
I could do that again with sufficient beer on hand.

Beer is the national beverage of sports fans everywhere.

I’m excited anticipating the start of the AFL season in a couple of weeks! As for the rest, each to their own and I don’t even need the beer!

If you’re over this way on the “West Island” Charles drop in and we can watch a game together!

Cheers Rob. I'd be honoured. It may happen one day.
I've not seen the South East, I only made it as far South as Nowra last time and I've never seen a Tiger Snake so there's a reason to come back.
Oh, I also have children and grandchildren in QLD but a photo of the snake is more important. 😅

Any takes on this USFL thing? We’re getting a team in Memphis, but I’m reminded of all the other times a sub NFL team tried here. XFL, I’m looking in your direction.

I have about as much interest in it as the Canadian Football League. Not much.

It seems like it's a place for those who can't quite make the NFL (or stay in it) and need a place to prove themselves, but I don't see it catching fire.

Plenty of them around the river running through Bairnsdale, however be careful of what you wish for mate! We love the south coast of NSW too but East Gippsland is pretty special.
