Have I mentioned how much I hate paperwork?
Nice surprise, our son Greg is coming down this morning. They finished a contract a day early apparently.
Oh I forgot, there may be a withholding period for fruit.
It rained here yesterday so I did some cooking and stayed inside.
I started off with housework and then transitioned to dragging a backpack spray around the steep bank behind the house killing weeds. That did me in.
I got my orders off the boss lady to shampoo the living room & Hall carpets yesterday & judging by the colour of water that came out of them it was not before time Embarrassingly dirty.
Worse yet, is having to leave a phone message (on a Friday) when they send paperwork that is seemingly irrelevant. ( "I'll return your call within two business days")
We’ve been having a nice family visit with our son which culminated in a family dinner out last night.
Greg has got me hooked on Peaky Blinders~
This is the life of “Diggers” in Winter:
With the cold wet Spring we had still waiting for the garden to burst into bloom, Everything's 3-4 weeks behind.
Crikey mate, it looks like an oasis!
LOL Cheers mate, I was looking at some pics I took last year at the beginning of June & every plant was in full bloom then, End of June & most plants still haven't flowered yet.
I think mowing duties for me today.
Oweem away oweem away....
In da jungle, da mighty jungle...
After 3 weeks of wet I finally got the mower onto the ground and cleaned up. It was a laborious job as grass was still wet! I also painted the freestanding electrical meter box to match my shed and did number of other jobs I’d been putting off. Very productive day actually and my energy levels were up for a change.
Our daughter and granddaughter paid a surprise visit later and stayed till almost tea time. It was lovely seeing them.
It’s off to the dentist this morning...Sigh~
That's an earworm for today lol
I didn't do much yesterday save for re-potting some plants into bigger containers, I went with the missus shopping yesterday for the first time in ages as her hip & arthritis are playing up, It's hard work shopping with the opposite sex as they want to look at EVERYTHING in the store even if they don't buy it
Try going to a museum with my father-in-law. Reads every plaque or description in the joint as though he's proofreading them - including the duplicates!
He's not exactly a speed reader either.
SWMBO told me of a vacation to D.C. where they were going to visit various Smithsonian museums. As you can imagine progress was drastically hampered by this habit.
Don't even get me started on road trips. If you're in the same car, it's not that bad. On the other hand, a convoy situation with her family.... there's a reason my hair was a lot grayer when we got back from evacuating from Hurricane Irma.
*EDIT* Nope, I'm not even going to go there. That situation has been resolved, I have taken it upon myself to ensure that none of that ish will ever go down like that again.
I was hospital appointment duties with Mam again yesterday seeing a respiratory consult /x-ray on her chest. She's got COPD to add to the long list of ailments now
The MG did one of it's party tricks whilst travelling to the hospital! Some clown changed lanes right in front of me with no warning & the AEB (active emergency braking) kicked in & stopped the car dead without me touching the brakes
It makes a weird sound as there is no vacuum on these EV';s so I'm surmising it's a pump of some sort that operates it that makes the weird noise
Probably not unlike some noisier ABS pumps. When she first got a car with ABS, I told my mother to find an empty lot, get up some speed, and then stomp the brakes hard enough to activate the ABS so she wouldn’t freak out with the noise and the pedal pulsing in a real emergency.
